when it's too hot to wear anything, what would you wear?

How many consecutive days of 90-something temperatures does it take to have a girl wanting to wear less and less and still be brilliantly accessorized? The recent heatwave had me pondering that very question and I decided to have the I. Gorman staff help me figure it out. After all, it will be August in mere hours, it seems, and we are definitely not close to being through the dog days of summer.

Sooooo, I put the very question in the headline to the gang. Here are their (colorful) responses:

Nicole: "I would be naked on the beach wearing a magnificent necklace. Make it Antonio Bernardo's drop-dead Luminoso Especial." (Nicole!! You go girl!)

Sarah: "When it's that hot, my hair goes up and I want light but dramatic gold earrings like Majoral's Samoa pair. Gorgeous!"

Jill: "Give me big, colorful earrings. Margoni's aquamarine and silver pair, definitely. (We're all still stymied that Jill didn't pick diamonds, but maybe the heat got to her.)

Natalie: "A delicate necklace with a touch of color. Antonio Bernardo's emerald and tourmaline necklace would be perfect."

Juli: "I always wear pearl studs, but perhaps I'd need a bit more... like Majoral's pearl drops. Mmmmm."

Marilyn: "The biggest diamond ring in the store." (Full disclosure: Marilyn actually said this as she was running out the door...and she didn't bother to specify what type of diamond, or anything else for that matter. So I picked this Todd Reed beauty out for you, Marilyn. Hope you like it!)

Kay: "I'd go for one of the new Margoni necklaces; a really light chain with small, happy, colorful gemstones."

Aarti: "My birthday suit! Brown diamonds. And shades. Can't I have a tiara?" (Um, no.)

Adam (hey, so, he's a guy, but why not?): "My favorite Todd Reed ring. Simple but totally cool."

Me? I'm with Sarah – hair back, earrings on. Serious earrings. The perfect excuse for the Antonio Bernardo RessonĂ¢ncia earrings of my dreams.

Finally, Nancy, (not to be outdone by Aarti) gave the quintessential reply: "Just a smile on my face." (First time she's ever refused jewelry. Imagine!)

That's our story...we're sticking to it. Because we know it will be hot and sticky again all too soon.

And what would you wear when it's too hot to wear anything?
