a color riot.

i love our garden! or, in the words of my favorite #millennial, i LURVE our garden! there is color and texture and happiness everywhere i turn. from the impossible-to-capture brilliant blue of the teeniest forget-me-nots to the hot-hot pink of the sprightly butterfly bushes, a meandering stroll through it will never fail to make my day.

there is every shade of purple imaginable in the violets, the fairytale-worthy allium, the coneflowers, catmint, and deep, dark false indigo.

yellows are blazing to buttery: the yarrows become bouncing dots out front; the peonies i jokingly refer to as "sunny side up" bring instant smiles.

roses flourish in every hue: the sweet, teeny weeny red babies, the lipstick red of the huge chrysler imperial, the baby-soft pink of the climbing rose that is finally reaching the sun at the top of the fence and showing its happiness with the best display ever. and "marilyn," ever the peach-perfect showpiece, even offstage.

the garden's greenery is as complex as the garden itself...i adore the mashup of hostas and all the other greens. even whites are so much more than the absence of color when you look at the spectacular clematis and the lush carpet of azaleas.

then there are the painted ferns, works of colorful art all on their own. as are the lily pulitzer-ready caladiums, just waiting for an outing. speaking of which, time to get outside...

enjoy the tour!

(with thanks and hugs to mike, panchi and steve for their dirty digging and dedication to this splendid show, and to our beautiful margoni jewelry collection whose rainbow of colors inspired this post!)
